Notable new features and changes include:

  • Rename function with F2 keyboard shortcut. Renaming also works seamlessly for "image stacks", i.e. RAW+JPG etc.
  • Professional Edition: the renaming function supports customizable renaming templates. It is possible to create user-defined presets that govern how the renaming is perfomed, for example to add a date prefix or a user name to the file name. Dozens of variables are proposed including file and image info, EXIF fields etc, with many presets for dates, time, even regular expressions (almost any "name surgery" can be performed, for example renaming _DSC0001.jpg into DSC_0001.jpg by splitting and joing parts). A renaming tutorial has been posted on the help page.
  • The Keep/Copy function now uses a renaming template. Pro users can customize the name transformation performed when copying (or moving) keepers to the keep/copy folder to their liking.
  • The Ctrl+Del function is now simple Del.
This version starts to makes use of operating system features introduced in Windows Vista and later. For example, when renaming a RAW+JPG stack the program guarantees that either both files are renamed or none are, using the Kernel Transaction Manager and Transactional NTFS functions. This ensure extreme robustness for the file manipulations (atomicity), even in case of software errors or system crash. Under XP the program makes a "best effort" attempt at keeping things consistent.

The new version is available now from the download page.
