Notable new features and changes in version 1.1.135 include:

  • Added a "Save for Web" action to the rule-based File Utilities plug-in: quickly export small or medium-size, web-ready JPEG copies from any supported image. All metadata is stripped out, the images are converted to sRGB and downscaled to the required dimensions with optional sharpening. The files are then saved to JPEG format. This new action is easy to set up and produce files with a good balance between image quality and weight: perfect for web uploading, sharing or email. Last but not least, the export process is fast!
The rule engine introduced in v1.1 makes it easy to perform and automate complex and repetitive actions, such as for example copy all 5-starred raw images to some location, export them as JPEGs somewhere else then move the originals to yet another place.

Multiple rules can be created to perform multiples actions, such as copy certain files to multiple drives or to some network fileserver, or export them in several different sizes etc.

Once set up, a "rule set" can be executed quickly, over and over again, merely by pressing a button. This is perhaps the greatest time saver ever, besides FastPictureViewer itself 8-), as it let users automate a tedious, boring and error prone part of their workflow, with clockwork repeatability and maximum performances.

The new version is available now from the download page.
