Batch Copy?

Postby Tim4Peace on Mon May 30, 2011 4:50 pm

Hello. I am a new user to FastPictureViewer. So far I really like it a lot. I have a question, if you give a 100 photos a 5 star rating, is it possible to copy them all at once to another folder? Thank you very much.

Yes, batch copy based on rating is just a few clicks away in the File Utilities plug in, where you can create a rule that reads something like "Where the image has an XMP Rating equal to 5 then copy it to the C:\Pictures\5-Stars folder.", then apply it to all images in one button press.

Press Ctrl+F to start the plug-in, but you may want to check the tutorial first, to get a feel of what's possible.

The File Utilties plug-in can do batch copies and a whole lot more: move, rename, delete, export as JPEG, set rating/label/urgency - with point-and-click ease - and can also run custom scripts in JavaScript or VBScript if you feel like programming your own actions.

One thing to check out when starting with FPV Pro is the Cheat Sheet, which lists all keyboard commands. You'll find it in your Start menu.
