How to disable the subfolder picker pane

Postby jfairbrass on Sat Sep 22, 2012 12:08 am

Build 1.9.265.0 of FPV introduced a new feature called the subfolder picker pane, which I presume is the new panel that pops up when I move my mouse to the very left side of the screen.

I understand the purpose of this pane and its advantage if you set FPV to display subfolders. However, I don't have FPV configured to display the contents of subfolders - it only shows the contents of the current folder - so this pane is always empty for me, and I'm finding it quite annoying that it pops up every time I bump my mouse over to the left of the screen, which is quite often as I'm used to "hiding" the mouse off-screen by moving it way over to the left - but I can't do that now because of this new pane.

Is there any way to disable this new pane completely, for those of us who don't want/use it?

If not, could the ability to do so please be added to the next build?

Thanks!

1) Always check the available options: under Personalization, uncheck the "Enable auto-hiding navigator" which, as I write this, I believe should be renamed to "Enable auto-hiding sub-folder picker", to better reflect the description of the feature...

2) I'll think of auto-disabling this pane when the program is in "single-folder, no sub-folders" mode as you run it, as indeed it may not make much sense in that context, thx for pointing that out!

Awesome, thanks! Both ideas sound great to me. I had already looked in the options (twice) but hadn't seen that option because I was looking for a reference to the subfolder picker pane. :)
