How to: Rate pictures?

FastPictureViewer supports two industry standard rating mechanisms:
Menu->Options->XMP Rating.
XMP color labels and urgency are also supported and all ratings are readable by XMP and MS Photo compliant applications, including Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Bridge, IDImager, the Windows Operating System (from Vista and later) and most Digital Asset Management software suites, making FPV an ideal front-end to those applications. Rating can be later used to sort images or used as an additional search criteria.
An option, when enabled, cause the program to rename the file(s) accorting to their rating, by prefixing the name(s) with the rating value, enclosed in braces. For example, "File1.jpg" would become "{5}File1.jpg" if it was given a rating of 5. This allows for easy sorting and searching from Explorer.
- Adobe XMP (sidecar files for all formats, or embedded into JPEG/HD Photo/TIFF)
- Microsoft Photo Rating (Windows Vista and Windows 7 Explorer, Photo Gallery, Media Player 11)
- Poor
- Fair
- Good
- Excellent
- Outstanding
