Colour management - which profile to use?

Postby ranjith on Wed Feb 03, 2010 12:22 pm

Hi - I'm using a HPLP2475w monitor which I've calibrated using a Spyder3 device, so there is a profile for it in the 'Custom Monitor profile' drop down list. However, I'm not sure whether I should be using this HPLP2475w profile or the 'sRGB IEC61966' profile when viewing my images in FastPictureViewer.

The pictures I'm viewing are typcially sRGB Jpegs, but when the sRGB profile is selected the images have a distinctive red tinge to them, whereas using the HP profile makes them look 'right' what I see in Lightroom. But I'd ideally like to see what I'm going to get when I print, not what looks right on the screen.

Any help much appreciated.

If you have calibrated your monitor and created a custom profile then you need to select the profile in question in the program options.
