Offset image in portrait mode

Postby PeteS on Sat Jul 10, 2010 6:37 pm

Just a thought as I was wading through a number of images in portrait mode ...

An option to offset the display to either the left or the right - so that the histogram and EXIF windows do not cover the image. No need for pixel placing, just have the vertical axis at (say) x=1/3 or x=2/3 instead of x=1/2 screen width.

Of course, in landscape mode it would have no effect.

Thanks for the suggestion. The "floating" window design has certain advantages over "docking" (more screen real estate for pictures) but one of its drawbacks is that, sometimes, the child windows might partially cover the image. To mitigate this you can press F10 to quickly toggle all open "head-up-displays" at once.
