It will be nice to support reading location information from geo-tags (raw image or xmp sidecar) and show the points on the map (google maps, google earth, wikimapia, openstreet map, etc).

Just in case, I use GeoSetter to match image creation time with my gps tracks.

There is very good support for geotagged image in the batch file processing utility, where you can select images from their distance to a given point, or the GPS heading, and several other GPS-related criterias. For example you can select all images taken within a given radius around some point of interest, then copy, move, erase, export or rename those files.

Some support for GPS coordinates in the main viewing area may be added in a future version, probably in a floating window similar to the existing EXIF, histogram or XMP rating windows, with the coordinates and perhaps a button to launch a web browser on those coordinates.

Actually the GPS Position Condition in the File Utilities plug-in does exactly that, albeit in a different context:

FPV Pro 1.6 (late August 2011) now has a floating GPS Coordinates window, which shows the latitude/longitude of geotagged in various formats and let users launch their web browser on the coordinates using various online map providers.
